When building our home back in 2006 and after a lot of research on heat pumps, oil and pellet boilers we finally settled on a Windhager pellet boiler supplied by Colm Mc Carthy.

We wanted on demand hot water, that would be cost effective, efficient and trouble free. We had heard about some problems with other systems, but felt happy with all the reviews on the Windhager system to proceed with purchasing. We found Colm McCarthy very helpful and knowledgeable in giving advice on pellet boilers and also general advice on energy-efficient heating. Colm and his team of installers were friendly, efficient and very neat and tidy during the whole installation.

Since the installation five years ago, the only problem we had was a lighter. Colm was easily contacted and got the system going even though it was over a weekend. Other than that there has been no other issues. Maintenance is minimal and the cleaning is easily carried out in a few minutes per year and can be easily done by anyone.

The supply of pellets has never been an issue or concern and are freely available. Compared to oil, I reckon the boiler is almost paid for already. Electricity use in minimal.If we were starting our home build again, we would install the same system without hesitation.
