Video of Cashin Charleston C5 multifuel stove being manufactured.
The Cashin Charleston and Tradition ranges of multifuel/ wood burning stoves are manufactured in France.
These stoves have a double wall construction meaning;
- the combustion box is made from high grade steel and all the joints are welded for extra strength.
- this steel combustion box can cope better with the stress of high temperatures and constantly fluctuating temperatures.
- also this combustion box is completely sealed with the addition of a dedicated external air connection – so ideal for air-tight houses.
- the outer wall of high quality cast iron with therefore not get to the high temperature associated with other stoves.
- the air in the space between the cast iron outer wall and the steel inner wall is heated and rises up an out into the room and more cooler air is drawn into the space from below and a natural convection cycle begins and this is more effective for heating larger spaces and indeed adjoining rooms.
- there is also a significant amount of radiated heat (same type of heat from open fire or indeed the sun).
- and of course all these stoves have the option of a central heating boiler which give approximately 50% of the heat to the rads and hot-water.
- this boiler can be connected in the traditional manner with a gravity circuit to the hot-water cylinder to prevent over heating and onto the central heating or
- this boiler can connected to a sealed heating system with no gravity circuit using instead a thermo-safety valve which allows cool water into the boiler to prevent over-heating. this gives many more options when considering either a new house or indeed trying to install a back-boiler stove into an existing house which may or may not already have a solid-fuel appliance.
- these stove have a very simple control mechanism with which the primary and secondary (plus tertiary and intermediate) combustion air is controlled with a single lever.
- many stoves are available with a side loading door which can be very useful especially for larger wood pieces.
- 10 year warranty on these ranges of stoves.
